Carol Woodley
After a first class Maths degree, Carol quickly qualified as an Actuary, winning a prize in the professional exams. With experience at Clay & Partners and Coopers & Lybrand she was headhunted to create and lead Arthur Andersen’s UK pensions practice.
Over 7 years she built a business with annual revenues of over £10m and a team of 60, focussing on helping companies deal with the more challenging and complex pensions issues. She also became a partner and headed up the global practice. In 2002 Carol decided to set up her own business focused on roles where she could use her personal influence most directly. She now sits on five pension trustee bodies, three of which she chairs, from a wide range of industries and with assets between £60m and £600m .
Carol combines outstanding technical experience with a real understanding of effective decision-making processes. She brings a truly independent voice to bear on all issues and is comfortable acting either as a chair or member of a trustee body. She has direct experience of a wide range of trustee issues including employer funding negotiations, investment de-risking, scheme closure and buy-out, risk management, adviser/manager selection and member communication.
Carol’s experience is an invaluable addition to trustee bodies in facing the challenging pension fund issues of today.
